Nature interpretation has always been a focus
of Friends' programs. Through the delivery of interpretive programs,
including nature walks and wildlife viewing days, Friends provides
opportunities for people to experience and strengthen their passion
Walks are available upon request throughout the year for groups.
The walk guarantees participants fresh air, exercise, and an introduction
to the Second Marsh Wildlife Area and the McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve
trails. During the walk a variety of topics are discussed and may
include the marsh and its features, plants of the marsh, trees,
birds, amphibians, reptiles, as well as the history of the area.
Specialty themed walks are also offered throughout
the year and may include anything from trees to birds to reptiles.
